Each year, prior to the start of the season, players participate in player evaluations. Please see below for details about this year's evaluations.

When: Sunday, March 8th

Where: Suffield Academy Field House

Please bring: 

• Baseball Players: glove, bat, batting helmet

• Softball Players: glove, bat, batting helmet, fielders face mask/guard

Wear: sneakers, no cleats

What: Players will spend 45 minutes participating in drills and batting practice. Parents/families will remain outside of the gym while coaches/volunteers will be watching and supporting the players.

Please arrive 15 minutes before your designated evaluation time for check-in. Below are the evaluation time-slots:

• 9:00-9:45 am: Baseball 12/11 yr olds

• 10:00-10:45 am: Baseball 10/9 yr olds

• 11:00-11:45 am: Baseball 8 yr olds

• 12:00-12:45 pm: Baseball 7 yr olds

• 1:00-1:45 pm: Softball Ages 7-12

The Baseball evaluation time-slot is based on a child’s age on 8/31/2026. If you are unsure of your child’s baseball age, please use this chart: 2026 Baseball Age Chart

The Softball evaluation time-slot is based on a child’s age on 12/31/2025. If you are unsure of your child’s softball age, please use this chart: 2026 Softball Age Chart

All players should attend their designated session. This includes those players whose parent is managing/coaching a team. 

All players ages 4, 5 and 6 DO NOT participate in evaluations and do not need to come to this event. You will hear from your child’s coach in mid to late March.
